Books for the FADICA MDI Workshop

Can We Send You Some Books?

We would be delighted for you to join us for a three-week workshop, May 8 – 28th 2022, on Mission Driven Investing. (The workshop is free to FADICA members.)

When you enroll in the workshop (apply here by 25 March), we will send you a welcome packet, including the following books. They are remarkable, powerful volumes that frame and energize our work in the workshop together.

Let Us Dream, by Pope Francis

Pope Francis’ hopeful, inspiring reflection following the first year of the COVID pandemic. He applies his writing in Evangelii Gaudium, Laudato Si, and Fratelli Tutti to our present reality and urges us to be protagonists of the future that we want to co-create with God. The book follows the structure of SEE, DECIDE, ACT, a framework derived from Catholic Social Teaching and essential to its productive application.

Real Impact, by Morgan Simon

An accessible, story-driven, no-nonsense primer to impact investing. The middle chapters clearly lay out the “Transform Finance Principles” that invite practitioners to ensure that impact investing lives up to its promise.

The War of Art, by Steven Pressfield

An invitation to look with clear eyes at what holds us back from our most important work. Our inclusion of this book acknowledges that much of the journey to and through mission driven investing will demand our creativity, empathy, and emotional labor to carry the weight of reality. This work is hard, and Pressfield’s guidance of how to win the “war of art” offers indispensable advice for this journey.
