We partner with faith-based investors to reimagine an investment practice anchored in Catholic Social Teaching.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ Economy of Francesco movement, the Francesco Collaborative gathers Catholic investors and close associates to explore practices of “faith-first investing” that nurture economic futures rooted in solidarity and embody the prophetic edge of Catholic investing.
Vision
Decades ago, pioneering congregations of women religious made a bold decision to use their capital as a transformative force for good, rejecting a status quo of exploitative and extractive finance. We — the grateful inheritors of their vision for Catholic investing — are a community gathered and grounded by the Holy Spirit, which:
- Builds conviction, capacity, and companionship among those who long to live out a finance and investment practice rooted in this vision; and,
- Offers a space of hospitality and discovery for anyone seeking to explore the possibilities of capital as a force for good.
We are united as peers in building–each in our own way–an economy of solidarity, justice, repair, and ecological flourishing: an economy that breathes in the prophetic principles of Catholic social teaching.
Workshops and Formation
Deepening our faith and value commitments is essential to the work of transforming our economic and financial systems. Our flagship program, the Livable Future Investing workshop, gathers asset stewards and faith-based actors from around the world to pray, write, reflect, and collaborative discern our “most important work.” We’ve since accompanied 200 workshop alumni on their journey to become protagonists of transformation.
Immersions and Encounters
Too often, the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor feel distant. We facilitate opportunities for asset stewards to see and experience the beauty of the solidarity economy and initiate relationships with the vital leaders of regenerative business ecosystems.
Capital Strategy
Adopting a practice of faith-first, values-aligned investing is hard work. With the help of a generous network of faith-based asset stewards and leaders in the field of Catholic investing, we accompany organizations as they work to take up a new course of action – whether it’s revising an investment policy statement or making a first impact investment.
Community and Movement Building
We cannot do the work of transforming our economic and financial systems alone. Our team is committed to mobilizing the individuals and organizations willing to unfold this work over the long-term. We aim to build trusted, sustainable relationships rooted in a vision that goes beyond any one organization or agenda. We currently collaborate with Relèven, FaithInvest, Mission Driven Finance and others on initiatives related to faith and mission-driven investing.
