Inspired by Pope Francis’ Economy of Francesco, we — the Francesco Collaborative — organize investors, faith leaders, and fund managers around Catholic Social Teaching — building the conviction, community, and market intelligence to move capital toward a different kind of economy.
Vision
The Catholic sisters got there first. Decades before “impact investing” had a name, religious congregations were asking a harder question: What does it mean to invest and authentically follow Jesus? We are the grateful inheritors of that question — and we believe the answer is still unfolding.
Francesco Collaborative exists to keep asking the question, together, with investors, advisors, and faith leaders who suspect the economy can be organized around dignity and solidarity rather than extraction and accumulation.
Workshops and Formation
Our flagship program, the Livable Future Investing workshop, has gathered 200+ institutional investors, philanthropists, and faith leaders across ten cohorts — from CIOs of multi-billion dollar investment offices to treasurers of religious congregations navigating governance transitions. Together we pray, write, wrestle, and discern our most important work. Formation is not a prerequisite for transformation. It’s the method.
Immersions and Encounters
Too often, the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor feel distant from the spreadsheets and investment committees where decisions get made. We create encounters that close that distance — bringing investors into direct relationship with communities, leaders, and ecosystems at the frontier of a different kind of economy. What you see changes what you’re willing to do.
Capital Strategy
Moving toward a portfolio of investments you’re genuinely proud of means navigating a specific set of obstacles. Consultants that don’t have your ideas on their approved lists, investment committees with conventional finance beliefs and mental models, boards that haven’t yet developed a framework for this kind of asset allocation. We know that terrain. We work alongside leaders and organizations to build the conviction, the language, and the internal relationships to move through it — from revising an investment policy statement to closing a first impact investment to reshaping how an endowment is managed for the long term.
Community and Movement Building
Movements are born of critical connections rather than critical mass. We collaborate with organizations across the faith-first investing ecosystem — sharing intelligence, co-creating programming, and building the kind of trusted relationships that make capital move in new directions.
