Reviving Courage
Commitments come easily to us. Follow-through is the harder discipline.
DOWN
We go down into where this comes from: the sisters who built community investing before it had a name, and ten commissionings, two hundred leaders, five years, that got us this far.
UP
We come up into the honest state of the field: real capital raised, real theology written, and the loudest headlines still going to a handful of tech fortunes instead. We come up anyway, with conviction, not despair.
IN
And we go in, into a quiet moment before we say it out loud: the commitments we’re making again this December, in front of people who will ask next year how it went.

Governance
IPS changes, board task forces, and the twelve steps of CST embodiment.

Theology & frameworks
Theology of investing, the civil economy, ecumenical charisms, and Magnifica Humanitas, including a full four-session arc on the civil economy tradition, and single sessions on Dorothy Day’s Catholic Worker Movement and on reparations.

Asset classes & strategy
Private credit, fixed income, municipal bonds, church real estate, insurance, climate and energy.
04
Activating capital
Donor-advised funds, capital formation, and field-building for low- and moderate-income families, including the story of a team that’s moved $100M in family housing equity, one contract-for-deed conversion at a time.
05
Ecosystem, Narrative, Power
Narrative strategy, dioceses, AI, and SEC policy.
What Three Days Looks Like
Dec 1
Arrive & Open
Morning: Registration and lunch.
Midday: Opening plenary, then breakouts.
Evening: Dinner, table conversation, lightning talks.
Dec 2
Working groups
Morning: Morning prayer, then a full day in the five tracks.
Midday: Fund manager and field-building table rotations.
Evening: Dinner in Durham, on your own.
Dec 3
Commitments & Close
Morning: Morning liturgy, a weaving session, final breakouts.
Midday: Closing and commissioning, a collective “mutual yes.”
Afternoon: Depart for the optional immersion at The Industrial Commons.
